This is a VERY quick and easy gift card holder to make if you own a Big Shot and the Top Note die (exclusive to Stampin' Up!). In fact, I need to make some more of these and glam them up a bit. It's a little too plain for my taste, but I also know that sometimes people don't have the time to do lots of embellishment. So, for you out there like that, this is for you.
I cut two layers of cardstock at the same time...Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. I cut the Kiwi Kiss layer in half and embossed the dove from To You & Yours on it. I adhered the Kiwi Kiss layer to the Riding Hood Red layer using Sticky Strip (an inch on each end and an inch at the very bottom so the card wouldn't fall out). I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in the upper left corner and set a Jumbo Pewter eyelet with the Crop-A-Dile. A piece of Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin ribbon (it's so yummy) completes it. What a great way to hang the gift card on the tree!
When I showed this at a recent workshop, several of the guests added Dazzling Diamonds to the dove image to glam it up. I'm sure it will sparkle nicely amongst the Christmas lights! This will also be one of my Rubber Roundup projects for next Friday, for those of you who signed up.
